Perimenopause is the time before menopause. It can last several years. Many women notice changes like irregular cycles, trouble sleeping, night sweats, mood shifts, low libido, or trouble focusing.
You don't have to wait for your periods to stop to talk with a provider. If something feels different, that's a good reason to come in.
Weight changes are common in these years too; see how we look at hormones and weight together.

New labels also address starting therapy before age 60 or within 10 years of menopause. These label changes apply to FDA-approved products. Your provider can walk you through what the update means for you.
